A juvenile lobster caught on Georges Bank in the bongo net. It is about 15 mm long, or just over a half-inch. Between 1 and 7 mm, the early stage of the lobster larva is covered with a shell just like the adults. In order to grow this shell must be shed, after which the animal puffs up and secretes a new shell on the puffed up body. This process is called ‘molting’ and results in a ten to seventeen percent increase in size and a fifty percent increase in weight at each molt.

Equine onesies were originally created to prevent horses suffering fly irritations, allergies, and other forms of skin conditions, they are also being snapped up by owners eager to keep their animals’ coats clean before a show. Jessica Clarke, 20, and Annie Brown, 18, custom make and sell the garments for £169.99 here.

I’d be so much more inclined to actually look when the Amber Alert alarm goes off on my phone if the tone and volume didn’t make me just try to turn it off as quickly as possible. By then I’m so angry that I refuse to even look at my phone based solely on principle.
